Job Description: Summary of the Job: • Teaching Special Education students in Elementary School separate classroom and developing programs • Working with general education staff to integrate students • Developing curriculum for the program • Participate in and support Behavior Intervention Plans • Maintaining necessary program paperwork including case management • Supervise and coordinate paraprofessional staff
Essential Functions: Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following: • Possess good organizational skills while preparing student education plans in consultation with parents and IEP team members, arrange meetings and complete required paperwork in a timely manner. • Design instruction, both individual and small group, which parallels the extended content standards curriculum for the purpose of ensuring successful progress towards student's goals and objectives. Cooperatively work to develop & enhance curriculum and strategies with a willingness and ability to contribute new ideas. • Team work and collaboration skills among professionals and paraprofessionals • Consult/collaborate with staff, parents, and agencies for the purpose of ensuring appropriate delivery of services and adherence to due process while acting as coordinator of IEP implementation with general education staff. Dealing with students and adults in a positive manner. • Maintain appropriate student data, fidelity monitoring and other records and submit reports as required. • Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment. • Provides adaptations to the environment to promote student success. |
