Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated ESL Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that fosters language acquisition and cultural exchange. This role involves teaching English as a second language to students of varying ages and proficiency levels at three sites across McDowell County Schools. This role will serve both the inclusion model of delivery of services and pull out model of delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Teach English language skills including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support language development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the development of the ESL program.
- Administer the ACCESS Test in January-March to students on your caseload
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Linguistics, English, or a related field (TEFL/TESOL certification preferred).
- Proven experience teaching ESL or working with non-native English speakers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Knowledge of educational technology and digital teaching tools.
- SIOP Training Preferred
